The Science behind our products

We live in a world where people have never been more aware of their health and wellbeing. But they also want to know that they are buying quality products that have been developed by industry experts. Our highly experienced team of doctors, nutritionists and scientists have worked together to create our growing range of premium CBD oils and softgels.

This is what makes us different

THC is what makes you high, which is why it is illegal for CBD to contain more than 1mg of THC. We subject our CBD to a barrage of independent and ISO certified tests to prove that it is THC free.

Premium CBD products

Not all CBD products are created the same. The highest quality CBD is both expensive to source and to manufacture. We think you deserve the best which is why we only use the best oils sourced from naturally sourced, hand-picked and air-dried GMO-free hemp plants grow in Oregon in the United States.

Scientifically proven

We wanted to make the highest quality products that people could be sure contained the correct and stated amount of CBD. It’s one of the reasons why we really welcome The Food Standards Agency work to ensure that all CBD companies are Novel Food compliant by March 2021. This authorisation process is being created to ensure that all CBD products categorised as Novel Foods meet strict legal guidelines. After the 2021 deadline, only CBD goods that have submitted a valid application will be allowed to remain on the market. Our submission to Novel Foods is well underway.

Trusted brand

This is so important to us. Our range of products has been developed by expert nutritionists, scientists and our Medical Director Dr Peter Naylor, a former GP with over 20 years of experience in the health industry.

All our CBD is thoroughly and independently tested

Frequently asked questions

What is CBD

CBD is short for Cannabidiol and is one of a number of cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. We extract our CBD using a more delicate method than is frequently used and then blend it with top grade coconut oil – which contains medium chain triglycerides – to create our CBD oil.

Why is it important to be THC free?

THC, otherwise known as tetrahydrocannabinol, is the illegal part of a cannabis plant. It is the bit that makes you ‘high’. It is generally illegal to possess a raw plant with more than 0.2% THC. More importantly here, it is also illegal to have any produced product containing more than 1mg of THC in total. Ours does not. It is UK made and tested to prove that.

Is our CBD organic?

Our plants are grown without the use of any chemicals, pesticides, herbicides or artificial fertilisers. We also use hemp plants which are GMO-free, naturally sourced, hand-picked and air dried in Oregon.

Is CBD legal?

Yes, CBD oil is completely legal in the UK and EU. It is legal to sell it as a food supplement. There is evidence of people using this plant for thousands of years and there is no legal problem buying, owning, storing or using it at all. By law, all raw materials used to make CBD must contain less than 0.2% THC and individual products themselves must contain less than 1mg THC. Ours adhere to that. We independently test this to prove it.

Please ask us for our certification if you are interested in finding out more. Don’t risk buying your CBD from sites that are not as rigorous as ours.

Why choose CBD?

CBD is a naturally occurring product found in the cannabis plant. Cannabis has been widely used by humans for thousands, if not tens of thousands of years. The plant itself has been used as a material, not unlike cotton, but it was also consumed as a food supplement and as a medicine for over 1,000 years. Only more recently in history has the cannabis plant come under different legislation and some countries have already gone full circle allowing it back for human consumption.

CBD is fully legal in the UK as long as it contains minimal THC (tetrahydrocannabinol – the psychoactive part of cannabis that leads to the high). All our products comply with the legislation. Our products are all THC-free and are independently tested to show this.

What are endocannabinoids and how do they work?

We all have an endocannabinoid system, as do other mammals.

The endocannabinoid system plays a crucial role in regulating a broad range of processes from our blood pressure and immune activity to how we experience pain and stress.

CBD is a phytocannabinoid, derived from the Cannabis Sativa plant, and can influence our body in the same way as endocannabinoids.

What strength should you start with?

If you are new to CBD we recommend trialling our lowest strength oil or our lower strength capsules and starting with the lower dosing advised. How you take CBD, and how much is taken, can affect your bloodstream levels and with any new approach we suggest starting low and building up. There is some guidance of a maximum daily dose of 200mg as a food supplement but more recently the FSA suggested considering a maximum of 70mg in any 24-hour period. You may see that higher doses are occasionally discussed. This is when CBD is used as a medicine which is not what we are offering. We sell CBD as a food and not a medicine.

We do not anticipate side-effects but if you were to experience any mild ones then take break for at least one day before considering returning to a lower dose. If you have any medical concerns please discuss these with your doctor before using CBD.

How do you take CBD?

You can take CBD in a number of different ways. If you are just starting then oils offer the most flexibility as you can start with a really low dose. The oil should be carefully dropped under your tongue and we would suggest starting with 1 or 2 drops. Hold for 60-90 seconds and then swallow.

This makes it easier to build up to a dosage that suits you – perhaps 2-3 drops twice a day, once in the morning when you wake up and then again before bedtime.

Be mindful of the FSA advice to take no more than 70mg a day. Some people love the earthy taste of Natural CBD oil but we know that many prefer a bit of flavour. So we have created a range of flavoured oils in addition to our Natural flavour – these include Peppermint, Pure Chocolate, Lemon & Lime, Orange and Mixed Berry flavours. We also have a Lavender Night Oil.

As well as CBD oil we also sell soft gel CBD capsules which have been designed to make it straightforward for you to accurately dose. They are easy to swallow and very portable.

What is the difference between taking the oils and the capsules?

Our CBD oils have been designed to be taken as a few drops under the tongue where they are quickly absorbed into the bloodstream. Our soft gel capsules are slower releasing for a longer lasting effect. They are also very portable.

How will CBD help you?

We are selling CBD as a food supplement. As such we can’t make, nor do we, any medical claims in relation to our product. The reasons you may wish to take CBD have to be your own. We encourage you to do your own research though. It really is a fascinating area.

Is CBD safe?

We believe CBD to be entirely safe and millions of people are using it around the world. We are obliged to put sensible disclaimers on our product as people are all different and we want you to feel comfortable and get the most from the product.

We therefore advise:
• Not for under 18 years of age
• Not to take if pregnant or planning pregnancy
• Not to take if you are breastfeeding.

If you have any other medical conditions that may be influenced by such a product, please discuss them with your doctor or an appropriate health professional before starting. We are not aware of any specific exclusions to document here but your clinical professional will support you.

Why is CBD expensive?

We offer our customers a high-end CBD product which is manufactured to all legislative standards within the UK. We think it is extremely important that you know you are buying a quality product with a guaranteed CBD concentration – and each of our batches are independently tested to prove just that. If you want to buy CBD with confidence then we believe we are the place to do just that.

We use a top-quality carrier oil and have created a selection of striking flavours to suit every palate.

We are also investing in our submission to The Food Standards Agency (FSA) who have advised all CBD companies that they have to be Novel Food compliant by 31st March 2021. After that date, only CBD companies that have submitted a valid application will be allowed to sell to consumers.

As a responsible seller of CBD we work hard to adhere to the guidance and this clarification regarding CBD as a Novel Food is helpful – and we’re already in a strong position.

What is the difference between hemp and cannabis?

Hemp is a particular type of the cannabis plant that is grown to have a very low amount of THC in before it is processed. It is used to make Hemp Oil and hemp materials. It has been used for 10,000’s of years. You may hear about Cannabis Sativa a variety of which is used more commonly referred to as Hemp.

Can CBD impact on a drugs screen test?

CBD is entirely legal in the UK and used by many people. If you buy your CBD from us, it is very unlikely CBD will make a drugs screen positive as we independently test our CBD oils to ensure a THC-free product. Be wary of sites selling cheap CBD oil as they probably do not pay for the independent testing to ensure our level of safety for you.
