CBD oil is completely legal in the UK and EU. It is legal to sell it as a food supplement. There is evidence of people using this plant for thousands of years and there is no legal problem buying, owning, storing or using it at all. All raw materials used to make CBD must contain less than 0.2% THC and individual products themselves must contain less than 1mg THC. We can guarantee that ours adhere to that. Our products are THC-free and we independently test this to prove it. Don’t risk buying your CBD from sites that are not as rigorous and leave you open to prosecution
CBD is short for Cannabidiol. It is the part of the plant we want to get to you in this supplement. That is what people want to buy. THC is the illegal part of a cannabis plant. That is the bit that makes you ‘high’. It is short for Tetrahydrocannabinol. It is illegal to have a product more than 0.2% THC in any raw/plant product. It is also illegal to have any produced product containing more than 1mg of THC in total. Ours does not. It is UK made and tested to prove that.
Legally we have to be clear here. We are selling CBD as a food supplement. As such we can’t make, nor do we, any medical claims in relation to our product. The reasons you may wish to take CBD have to be your own. We encourage you to do your own research though. It really is a fascinating area.
We believe CBD to be entirely safe and many people are now using it. We are obliged to put sensible disclaimers on our product as people are all different and we want you to feel comfortable and get the most from the product. We therefore advise:
- Not for under 18 years of age
- Not to take if pregnant or planning pregnancy
- Not to take if you are breastfeeding.
If you have any other medical conditions that may be influenced by such a product, please discuss them with your doctor or an appropriate health professional before starting. We are not aware of any specific exclusions to document here but your professional will support you.
We know we are supplying a quality product to you. There are some tricks that it would be easy to fall victim to, from very popular sites. Many of these inferior and cheaper to develop products supply purely a pressed oil (which has virtually or no CBD in it!) and cost pence to manufacture. These products are not that. We offer a high-end product which is manufactured to all legislative standards within the UK. You know what you are getting as each of our batches are independently tested to prove just that. If you want to buy CBD with confidence then we believe we are the place to do just that. Such a detailed process and the legal independent testing that follows is a costly business but we feel you will think it is worth it. We’ve taste tested other products and paid a high price for literally rancid oils! This product isn’t easy to get to you to all the high standards required. Why would we cut corners at that stage. We’ve used a top quality carrier oil and have spent time arranging a selection of flavours to suit every palate.
A range of options is available and it is very personal.
If you are just starting it is probable that oils offer the most flexibility as you can start really low. The oil should be put under your tongue (start with 1 or 2 drops and quickly build up to suit you) and hold for 60-90 seconds. Natural CBD can be an unpleasant taste to some (if not most!) but at CBDDirect2U we blend it with high quality oils and flavouring to make a really pleasant product so that makes it altogether a much more enjoyable experience. We offer, Natural; Peppermint; Chocolate; Lemon & Lime; Orange and Mixed Berry flavours. The website details the taste of these flavours under each product.
Some do prefer the convenience of a capsule. The other advantage is being able to carry these with you and knowing exactly the dose you are taking.
Anything we take can cause some unwanted effects. There are clinical papers showing that CBD is generally very well tolerated – even when taken above the maximum we advise. Things to watch out for are: light-headedness especially if you have low blood pressure.
CBD does not make you feel ‘high’. The THC is removed for this very reason as this is the illegal component and the part of cannabis that can give unpleasant effects such as nausea and dizziness.
This product is being sold as a food supplement. We cannot and do not imply any health-related claims around any of our products. Please do your own research and come to your own conclusions.
All we suggest is that you consider CBDDirect2U as a high quality, safe and reliable site with top quality products if you decide that CBD is for you.
Everyone is different and again we do not wish to sound like we are making health related benefit claims. We do feel it fair to say that CBD sales in the USA, last year, was over $500 million dollars!
We would estimate about 3 or 4 hours but it can be longer.
We would not recommend taking CBD if pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not panic if this is accidentally done but immediately speak to an appropriate healthcare professional for the most up to date personal advice.
We cannot recommend CBD for children and only sell to over 18 year olds.
Hemp is a particular type of the cannabis plant that is grown to have a very low amount of THC in before it is processed. It is used to make Hemp Oil in your supermarket (unfortunately that has no CBD in it either!) and used in hemp materials. It has been used for 10,000’s of years. You may hear about Cannabis Sativa a variety of which is used more commonly referred to as Hemp.
The law prescribes we have to advise that the maximum dose of CBD is 200mg in any 24 hours. We have to strongly advise that you stick to that. There have not been any cases of deaths or fatal overdoses due to over consumption that we are aware of. Please discuss with a health care professional immediately if you accidentally overdose for the most up to date personal advice.
If you buy your CBD from us, it is very unlikely CBD will make a drugs screen positive as most test for THC. We independently test ours to ensure a THC-free product. If however it was a poor screen that included CBD it could easily be challenged and discussed, as CBD is entirely legal and used by many people. However, we believe this would be extremely unlikely. Please do not buy from cheap sites that probably do not pay for the independent testing to ensure this safety for you
CBD is a naturally occurring product found in the cannabis plant. Cannabis was widely used by humans for 1000’s, if not 10000’s years. The plant itself was used as a material, not unlike cotton, but it was also consumed as a food supplement and as a medicine for over 1000 years. Only more recently in history has the cannabis plant come under different legislation and some countries have already gone full circle allowing it back for human consumption.
CBD is fully legal in the UK as long as it contains minimal THC (tetrahydrocannabinol – the psychoactive part of cannabis that leads to the high). All our products comply with the legislation. The products are all THC-free and are independently tested to show this.
Sorry to get a bit scientific here but we do get asked!
Basically, there are three types of cannabinoids
Phytocannabinoids: CBD is one of these. As far as we know, they are found exclusively in the Cannabis Sativa and other plants (like cocoa and echinacea).
Endocannabinoids: These are found in mammals. Yes, we produce our own! Why? Well they work within our Endocannabinoid System (ECS). This system has two receptors (think of them like ‘catching units’ that then activate something else, like a nerve). These are CB1 and CB2 and there may be more. Both of these are in our nervous system and the latter has a role in our immune system.
Synthetic (laboratory produced) cannabinoids.
You will no doubt have seen all the recent reviews on many aspects of the cannabis plant and its possible future use as an expanded medical product. Here though we are describing CBD. It is a food supplement and it has a recommended maximum daily adult dose of 200mg. Our dosing details will help you tailor what is right for you (each product also offers dosing information).
Remember that CBD is being sold to you from us as a food and not a medicine. We do talk about ‘dosing’ and this can lead to confusion. There is some guidance of a maximum daily dose of 200mg as a food supplement and more recently the FSA suggested considering a maximum of 70mg. You may see that higher doses are occasionally discussed. This is when CBD is used as a medicine which is NOT what we are offering.
Remember how you take CBD, as well as how much is taken can affect your bloodstream levels and with any new approach we suggest starting low and building up.
If new to CBD we strongly recommend trialling our lowest strength oil or our lowest capsules and starting with the lower dosing advised.
We really do not anticipate side-effects but if you were to experience any mild ones then take break for at least one day before considering returning to a lower dose. If you were to have any medical concerns you must discuss these with your doctor before using CBD.
